My main research interest involves the role of early stress on neurodevelopment and psychopathology - including interactions with genetic markers. As part of my postdoctoral work at the NORMENT, KG Jebsen Center for Psychosis Research, Division of Mental Health and Addiction, Oslo University Hospital & Institute of Clinical Medicine, University of Oslo I have investigated interactions between childhood trauma and genetic markers on symptom severity in schizophrenia and bipolar disorders.
I obtained my PhD from the Institute of Psychiatry Kings College London on the topic of stress and cognitive function in first episode - psychosis. My master degree in Clinical Psychology was obtained from the University of Indianapolis. Over the last 5-8 years I have received more than fifteen research awards for outstanding research achievements.
I am involved in training new PhD students on diagnostic and symptom severity measures as part of our research project. I am also involved in organizing a PhD course on how to perform research in severe mental disorders at the Oslo University hospital.
My research collaborators include the Institute of Psychiatry Kings College London and the Hopital Albert Chenevier, INSERM Institut Mondor de Recherche Biomedicale.
